Join us for Leading With Purpose, a B Corp CEO forum presented in partnership with the Corporate Racial Equity Alliance. This private, invitation-only forum will equip CEOs and C-suite leaders with tools to navigate a new era of anti-ESG and anti-DEI attacks that directly threaten B Corps’ way of doing business. Across the U.S. and Canada, anti-ESG rhetoric has silenced many from publicly supporting purpose-driven business or investments. In 2023, lawmakers in 37 states introduced 165 pieces of legislation to block companies from responding to climate change, adopting ESG investing, or advancing civil rights as a matter of business strategy.

Yet the voice of business leaders addressing environmental and social issues remains necessary, as reaffirmed by countless studies supporting the role of purpose in building brand reputation and value. As a movement of B Corps using business as a force for good, we must be courageous in this moment, while ensuring we move forward on solid fiduciary, legal, and reputational ground.

This forum will be organized along three themes, addressing the investment, legal, and cultural dynamics of this landscape. We’ll invite experts from key B Lab partners to provide data, insights, and roadmaps for navigating these challenges. And we’ll hold plenty of time to discuss the pressures you face as CEOs and public figures. This forum will operate under Chatham House rules to support the open exchange of opinion.

Outcomes:
  • Revisit our collective “why” to center equity and just climate transition in our business strategies and share the most recent data and insights supporting the business case.
  • Provide workshops that show “how” business leaders can protect and build the case for purpose-driven business, introducing new frameworks and tools to meet this complex socio-political moment.
  • Build a collective approach to “what” we want to achieve together and inspire collective action ideas to advance narrative, policy, and campaign objectives.

How to register: this session is invite-only; please see instructions on how to register via email. Questions? Contact championsretreat@usca.bcorporation.net.
